FAQ

Those who are looking for an answer to the question «Why is kbs diamond clear so expensive?» often ask the following questions:

👉 Are diamond clear?

Diamond color refers to the visible tint of a stone, and the hue of a white diamond does not directly affect its clarity. Color can, however, make a diamond look more or less bright. For example, strong yellowish tints in a white diamond can make the stone seem somewhat dull, thereby making its flaws more noticeable and reinforcing the impression that the diamond is not very clean.

👉 Is a diamond clear?

Yes.

👉 Is black diamond expensive?

Natural color black diamonds will be more expensive than treated black diamonds, which are more affordable than colorless diamonds. If you decide you want a natural fancy black diamond, make sure your black diamond is accompanied by a GIA grading report that confirms that the color is natural and not treated.

Each time it is more difficult, more expensive with less satisfying results. The first two times were with basic red enamel. Smooth finish, no orange peel, and each paint job lasted at least 10 years. The new paint, especially the urethane clearcoats are crap. I've tried several Duplicolor, KBS, Sherwin-Willams 720, etc.

I personally wouldn't use those.^^^^^ As expensive as KBS is, why take a chance and who knows how it will react with the rubber gasket. When my mason jar lid got stuck I just poked a couple holes in the lid with a dart tip and drained into another jar and kept the new lip and threads cleaner. Mason jars are cheap.

I saw the Diamond coat for about $35 a pint which should do at least as many plugs and repaints I plan on doing this winter, so that won't break the bank. Thought maybe some one might have some first hand experience. I only build for myself and friends, so I'll give it a shot. I tried a search in the plug building forum on the stuff but drew a blank.
